Negative Pressure Isolation Rooms
We converted seven PPVL isolation rooms into negative pressure isolation facilities, to contain patients suspected of having a highly infectious disease. The work covered mechanical, electrical and controls installations — BMS, lighting, power, fire alarms, water systems and drainage — plus alterations to existing small power, fire alarms, lighting, AHU, plant, ventilation and ductwork.
It was carried out in three phases inside a live hospital, under strict HAI-SCRIBE measures: work areas segregated with air-sealed partitions, tack mats and a monitoring station to manage dust. We coordinated throughout with the Estates, Infection Control and Ward managers.
